2022-2023 Student Advisory Council

Click here for the list of 2022-2023 Student Advisory Council members – congratulations to these students!  Please note that we typically receive hundreds more applications than we are able to accept, and not being selected does not mean a student's application was not strong.

Members will be contacted directly via email – if you see your name on this list and you do not receive an email by end of day October 11, please contact students@doe.k12.ga.us.

About the Student Advisory Council

The State School Superintendent's Student Advisory Council is a group of students in grades 10-12 who discuss how decisions made at the state level are affecting students throughout Georgia. Members meet throughout the school year with State Superintendent Woods and are advisors who act as liaisons between the Department of Education and the students of Georgia.

Students may apply for the advisory council at the beginning of each school year by obtaining an application from their school or from this website. Members are chosen by a committee of Georgia Department of Education representatives based on the applicant's response to questions.

Application Information

GaDOE accepts applications each year for Superintendent Woods’ Student Advisory Council. 2022-2023 applications were due by September 9, 2022, at 5 p.m. All students in grades 10-12 attending a Georgia public school were eligible to apply.
