Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance |
Employees may elect to purchase additional life insurance for themselves or their dependents. The amount of coverage varies based on annual salary. In conjunction with life insurance, the Georgia Department of Education also provides access to a basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. As with life insurance, employees may choose to purchase additional coverage. |
Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance |
The Georgia Department of Education provides access to purchase short-term and long-term disability coverage for all eligible employees. |
Paid Time Off (PTO) |
Employees accrue paid time off (annual leave) starting with 10 hours per month, 12 hours per month after 5 years, up to 14 hours per month after 10 years. Annual leave begins accruing at 5 hours per pay period, for a total of 10 hours per month. |
Holidays |
The Georgia Department of Education offers twelve (12) paid holidays a year. |
