Georgia Parent Leadership Award
The Georgia Parent Leadership Awards are annual awards that recognize parents for their outstanding leadership in creating a foundation of support for student achievement and success. Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Parent Teacher Association created the Parent Leadership award to recognize parents across Georgia who utilize their various skills and talents to strengthen our schools and positively impact the lives of our children.
Parent Leadership Month
The month of February is recognized as Parent Leadership Month and every year various events and activities are held to honor and encourage parents for their leadership in their homes, schools, and communities. Meaningful parent leadership in schools occurs when parents gain the knowledge and skills to function in meaningful leadership roles and help support school goals and student achievement outcomes. Utilizing parent leaders effectively will greatly contribute to the overall success and progress of the school.
