The Georgia Department of Education is dedicated to preparing students for 21st Century workplace careers by providing high quality educational opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics fields. In Georgia, STEM and STEAM education is an integrated curriculum that is driven by exploratory project-based learning and student-centered development of ideas and solutions.
Through the Carl D. Perkins Perkinsplus Reserve Fund Grants, Georgia Local Education Agencies (LEA’s) and the local CTAE Director may submit a grant request to supplement the resources of local school systems in rural areas; areas with high percentages of career and technology education students. Local school systems may apply for these grant funds to support the implementation of a Georgia CTAE STEM/ STEAM initiative infusing the integration of authentic application, project-based learning into cross-curricular standards.
